Calvin Guillot

Artist introduction

Calvin Guillot is a Colombian-born multidisciplinary artist and creative technologist living and working in Helsinki. He utilizes visual storytelling, interactive installations, immersive experiences, and large-scale works to explore new ways of interacting with the surrounding world. At the same time, he aims to diminish the viewer's ego-centrism by addressing themes of sublimity, infinity, and identity. His goal is to expand the boundaries at the intersection of art, science, and technology, and to challenge perceptions of what is possible.

Guillot believes that the most important element of an artwork is its context. Therefore, his work is not defined by a specific visual style or a single idea, but by a continuous process of discovery, experimentation, and play. His artistic practice spans a wide spectrum of forms of expression, from traditional painting and street art to generative art, artificial intelligence, parametric sculpture, and artificial synthetic life. Natural processes, emergent phenomena, human connections, and societal contradictions are central sources of inspiration in his work.
