Welcome to the exhibition guide Creative Nerd 1996–2026: From Modems to the Meme Economy

This guide offers an in-depth look at three decades of the Finnish commercial internet and digital culture.

The exhibition combines a retrospective and contemporary art, leading the visitor through the turning points of the internet from the 1990s technology boom to the beginning of the mobile era, the birth of social media, and today's meme economy. The works and their background information shed light on online subcultures, visual aesthetics, and the people and phenomena that have shaped the Finnish digital landscape between 1996 and 2026.
